Peter Mwelelo

Peter Mwelelo is the Managing Partner and a leading corporate and commercial and labour laws practitioner in Tanzania. He heads the Firm and advises commercial banks, corporate as well as government entities. Peter practices corporate and commercial law as well as immigration laws. He also possesses considerable expertise in litigations and has acted for clients in high-level disputes.

Peter specializes in energy, natural resources and oil and gas. His work involves a broad range of corporate and commercial advisory services in oil and gas focusing on negotiating and structuring energy, oil and gas agreements, advising on contractual risk management amongst various contracting parties, acquisition and disposal of upstream and downstream oil and gas interests, dispute resolution, renewable energy, and advising on legal and regulatory compliance on all energy related transactions. He also possesses expertise in environmental and health and safety laws for corporate and individual entities in the energy and minerals, industrial and construction sector.

Esther Kuja

Esther Kuja is the Firm’s partner responsible for the supervision of all client matters working alongside the Managing Partner. She is a specialist in Tax Law, projects and infrastructure, corporate and commercial law, the setting of new Companies, Conveyancing, Immigration law, and Intellectual Property Law.

Esther provides advice on a range of tax issues with respect to Income Tax (Corporate Taxation), Value Added Tax, Withholding Tax, Customs, Tax Planning and compliance, Transfer Pricing and International Taxation. She also acts in tax disputes, and has rep resented various corporate clients in high-value tax mandates.

Esther holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Dar es Salaam, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PGDLP) from the Law School of Tanzania and a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Dar es Salaam. Pendo Joseph

Fredy Rugangila

Fredy Rugangila has exclusive specialization in various fields of law and taxation. His legal background as well as extensive experience in taxation enables him to hand i.e. complex files that demand in -depth understanding of the rules of taxation and their integration with law, business and commerce.

Fredy has a wide range of experience in tax litigations and dispute settlement mechanism. He has provided assistance to various clients on tax advisory services and set up companies and branches in Tanzania. His expertise comprises of tax advisory, tax compliance and tax planning (Corporate Tax, Employment Taxes, Capital Gains Tax, Withholding Tax, Stamp Duty and Value Added Tax), Tax Structuring (tax due diligence exercises for mergers and acquisitions and group re-organizations), tax health check, tax audit assistance, tax litigations and dispute resolution with the revenue authority and tax appellate bodies assisting a wide range of companies from multi-disciplinary lie ids including mining, insurance, construction and general enterprises.
